In matrix mode, ring-segment thickness shows how often each digit appears as a source.
Deeply inspired by Circos and the chord-diagram tradition Martin Krzywinski established for visualising transitions in π. We built this toy to learn by living inside that construction.

chord

A chord diagram of π. The ten digits sit around a ring; every time one digit is followed by another, a thread joins them. Threads that happen often grow into ribbons. It's the same kind of diagram Martin Krzywinski invented Circos to draw — here it shows how π moves from one digit to the next (almost uniformly, which is its own kind of beautiful).
