Martin Krzywinski's π Day 2024 art — a community garden of digits. Each digit of π gets a patch. The digit tells you how many blades of grass grow there: a zero stays bare, a nine grows nine. Where a patch is hemmed in by neighbours with little grass, it sprouts a sunflower, drawn by joining the grass to the centre. The six 9s of the Feynman point glow magenta. We built this to learn by living inside the construction.
